The tag of India’s largest selling car is no more with Maruti Suzuki Alto. But the new record was also made by Maruti Suzuki India’s car. The new avatar of the company’s compact Sedan Dzire Car has become the country’s best-selling car for the first time in August. The company launched its new Dzire in May this year, and its 26,140 units were sold in August. Alto was at second position with 21,521 units sold.
According to the latest data released by the Society of Indian Manufacturers (SIAM), In the list of top 10 best selling cars, there are seven models of Maruti Suzuki and three models of Hyundai Motor India were among the best-selling cars in August.
For the past ten years, Maruti Alto has been the best-selling car in the country. Maruti Suzuki Dzire is an updated version of which was launched in May. In August last year, 15,766 units of Dzire’s old version were sold, while Alto was at the top with the highest selling of 20,919 units.
But in this year’s list, Maruti’s premium hatchback Baleno has been ranked third in top 10 best-selling models in August with a total selling of 17,190 units. Last year it sold 8,671 units. With 14,396 units sale compact SUV Vitara Brezza is at the fourth position. It was at the eighth position in August last year. With the sale of total 13,907 units, Maruti Suzuki’s Wagon R is at number five. Maruti Suzuki India’s Swift is at number six, which sold 12,631 units in August.
Apart from this, Hyundai Grand i10 stood at seventh position with 12,306 units sold in August. While in August last year there are 12,957 units were sold of the same model. Hyundai’s premium hatchback Elite i20 was at the eighth position with 11,832 units sold, with the sale of 10,158 units Hyundai Creta was at the ninth position, and Maruti Suzuki Celerio is at the tenth position with 9,210 units sold. Renault Kwid failed to make its position in Top 10 list.
